Coloring Easter Eggs...

We colored Easter eggs yesterday after Henry and LC were done with swimming lessons. The kids loved doing it and were pretty independent about it. Henry and Wyatt dunked and retrieved there own eggs while Lauren still needed a little help.

I pulled the other tooth on the school playground while being recess Mom two days ago.

I can't get enough of that toothy grin.:)

My Little Snaggletooth...

The other morning I had run upstairs to get something from LC's bedroom when Wyatt walked in with a washcloth against his teeth. He proceeded to tell me that his tooth was bleeding which immediately gave me the creepy crawlies. As anyone who knows me, at all, knows that I have major teeth issues and can't stand loose teeth that can be wiggled. Ugh. I have goose bumps just describing it. Anyways...Wyatt tells me that his tooth is really loose, so I offer to pull it.*gulp* He says he doesn't know, so, I have him open his mouth, go behind him, grab his tooth and pull it out before he can even protest. *shudder* Luckily, he proclaimed that it didn't even hurt and happily went back downstairs to get his coat on to go to school, leaving me standing there with the disgusting little sucker. *eye twitch*

Water Park Excursion...

Yesterday was our annual trip to the water park with Wyatt and Henry's school. A great time was had by all, again. Todd was really sick at the beginning of the week, but thankfully, for the rest of us, it was only a really bad sinus infection. Two days of abx and steroids in his system and he was feeling back to normal. Now, if only work stresses would lessen for him. But, we had two days with the kids and a little get away to help him decompress.

We got up to the park at about 4:00 yesterday and the kids were off and running. Wyatt was seen only when he was hungry and when he wanted to brag that he went down the single person slide which he "double-dared" himself to go down. Last year, none of the kids went down this slide because it is really narrow, really fast and really dark. You go down with your hands crossed over your chest and without a tube and it is very intimidating. Wyatt was determined to do it and he was the first of his friends to go down and then the rest followed suit. He was so proud of himself. Henry and LC hung out with Todd and I the whole night and LC was able to go down the big slide with me for the first time. She laughed as we went down and then announced "no more" after we were done. LOL She and Henry both loved the outdoor hot tub as did I. It is an interesting experience to sit outside in below freezing temps but still be really warm. LC's hair was even freezing up. The kids loved it so much that it was hard to get them out.

After the park closed down, we headed back upstairs where our family and our friends were all in one area of the hotel. The kids were going back and forth between 3 rooms and having a blast, as were the adults. Finally at 1:00 am I dragged my kids to bed. Unfortunately for me, their internal alarm clocks do not permit them from sleeping past 7:15, so it was a short night's sleep. We headed back down for another day at the pool and we got home, finally, at about 2:00 this afternoon. Wyatt was so exhausted, he asked to go to bed at 6:00. Poor guy was spent, but happy.

Mother/Son Bowling 2008...

Catholic Schools Week was this week and it always culminates with an afternoon of bowling for all the boys at the school and their moms spent together throwing a ball down an alley at ten pins. Wyatt and I had so much fun made all the better that we were able to spend it with both of his best friends, Cameron and Ben, and their moms. Wyatt is super competitive now and was getting very bummed about his skill until he was able to hit 2 spares for a personal best game of 71. He was so proud of himself and finally started to relax and enjoy himself.



Many kudos to the moms who planned this event for us. They do such a phenomenal job and our gift this year was the shirt that I am wearing. On the front, it says SJS, and on the back, it has all of our names listed on the bowling pins. I am not really a t-shirt person, but I absolutely love this one and am so glad that I ordered one for Wyatt.

Pink eye and potty training...

That's been my last two weeks. How's yours been? Let me tell you, if I was ever to make the decision to never have another child it would have been last week when in the midst of trying to teach LC to use the potty, both boys came down with conjunctivitis. Wyatt's eye had been a little red for a few days but they get like that when his allergies are bad. Henry, however, doesn't suffer from them like Wyatt does so I was very alarmed when his eyes became flaming red, swollen and goopy one day last week. Off to the doctor we went and they were RX'd sulfa eye drops and ordered out of school for 2 days. Wyatt's eye cleared up almost immediately but Henry's only became much better last night after 6 days on the meds. I'm beginning to think that both boys had allergic conjunctivitis and didn't need the meds. *sigh* Oh, well. At least they have now calmed down and don't fight me while having the eye drops done.

LC is doing fabulous with the potty and for the first time in 8 years straight, we are a diaper-free household. I'm so excited about this, I don't even know what to do with myself. She's even learned how to do it a full six months before her brothers ever did. She must be brilliant. *snort*

Happy Birthday, Wyatt!

8 YEARS!!! How can 8 years go by so fast? It seems like just yesterday you were born changing our lives forever. And now, we have this Lego-building, Basketball playing, Baseball loving, Snow-skiing young man in our midst. How you have turned into such a little gentleman is beyond me. Your teachers adore you, your friends can't get enough of you and your brother and sister worship you. What is it liked to be so admired?

It is an honor to have you in my life. I thank God every day for you.<3
