Pardon me while a brag for a second...

Wyatt had a game first thing Saturday morning and scored the game-ending tying run with two outs in the bottom of the 7th inning. It was an actual nail-biter and a huge moment for the little guy after striking out in his two previous at-bats. Todd gave him a huge pep talk before he got up there and he hit a line drive right up the middle. In doing so, he has kept the team at undefeated for the year and given himself a huge confidence booster.

Way to go, Wy-guy!

Now, LC's room. First up is a shot of where the crib used to be. You can see that I moved the glider to that corner since we still rock every night:

Her dresser is also going to be painted white with a hardware change to "pretty" it up.

I am so happy with the changes we have made. The furniture placement isn't the best but we only have so much room to work with and I wanted to optimize the space in their rooms so they can start playing in them with space to spread out.

Update...

The Hankster is adapting to the top bunk quite nicely and LC is not only sleeping in her big girl bed, but is binky free!!! WOOT! Her crib has also been taken down and stored in the basement and I would be lying if I didn't admit to shedding a couple of tears over the fact that the nursery is now a little girl's room. The only remnant remaining of it ever having a baby sleeping in there are the little bugs stenciled on the walls that were put there before Henry was born (and those will be covered soon, too). Every other item has been removed. No more happy bugs hanging from the ceiling. No more sun, moon or flower smiling down from the walls. Just a blank canvas for a little girl to make it all her own.

*sigh*

Check back here tomorrow for updated pics. The boys curtains are done and the rest of the draperies will be here and hung up in the afternoon. We are still finishing the cabinet for the boys' room but I can't wait to show what I've done. I'm quite proud of myself.

Ch, Ch, Ch, Changes...

We've lived here 10 years, 8 of them with kids and the last two rooms to be finished are finally getting finished--the kids' rooms.

My girlfriend, Karen, offered us a set of bunk beds, twin mattresses and an armoire and I jumped at the chance to grab them since we have been looking at them for the boys' room. Also, Henry and LC were in need of new mattresses so it worked out perfectly. Wyatt's mattress and box spring have been moved into LC's room, waiting for the new linens I ordered for her from Penney's the other day. Her crib and mattress have been listed on craiglist, so, I'm hoping it will sell soon, if at all. Tomorrow, I need to go out and pick up a bed rail for her since she will be in her new bed by this weekend. I'm excited for her, but yet a little sad. The last remnant of her babyhood will be gone.:(

Now, we just have to hope that the Hankster stays put in the top bunk. Keep your fingers crossed.

I'll post pics of the rooms when we're finished. We'll be hanging new curtains that I have to alter with some appliques.

Mother's Day Tea, Birthday Parties & Brunches. Oh My!

What a busy, busy, busy week it has been. Heather and Olivia showed up on Monday and we have been going ever since. Henry and I had Mother's Day Tea at his school on Wednesday, which was also my birthday. It is always a very sweet affair to go to at the school. The kids sing songs they have been rehearsing, they give us our gifts and then we have a snack. We also had baseball games three nights last week as well as trying to get the house and yard ready for LC's birthday party on Saturday, which was a huge success. Both families were here so the kids were able to play with ALL of their cousins. The house was packed with two 8 year olds, two 6 year olds, a 5 year old, four 3 year olds and a 9 month old. It was loud, to say the least, but everyone had fun.

Today was Mother's day, which is my favorite day of the whole year. We go to Mass and then to brunch at a resort nearby which is to-die-for. This year, as I said, Heather and Olivia were here so it was fun to celebrate her first one with her. Todd also surprised the kids and I with a trip to DisneyWorld in August for 8 straight days. I don't know who's more excited--me or the kids. The boys are also ecstatic because we are flying, which they have been asking to do for years.

All in all, it was a good week, but I will be happy to get back to a normal routine.

Happy Birthday, LC!

Three years ago today, God gave me the prettiest, sweetest, most special girl in the whole world. I am still in shock sometimes knowing that I have a little girl who loves dresses and dollies and proclaims pink as , "my favorite color." You are finding your independence and exerting it often but are the most affectionate little thing. You love to play "mommy and daddy" with Henry and your dolls and do not understand why he wouldn't want to play it all.the.time.

Although today is the real birthday, we celebrated it yesterday because Todd has a meeting tonight and will be home long after the kids are in bed. LC's only request for her cake was that it have "pink flowers." So, pink flowers it was. It is hard for me to believe that my baby is now three. But, we are having so much fun it makes me look forward to what is to come.

First Holy Communion...

Yesterday was Wyatt's First Communion and it turned out to be a perfect, perfect day. The weather was gorgeous, the kids, for the most part, were healthy after a week of Henry being sick, and all his grandparents were in town to witness it. The service was packed since there were 40 kids celebrating today, but it moved fairly quickly. We then moved the celebration to dinner at Dunhill's Steakhouse, which was great, as always. It was topped with Wyatt's favorite cake.

I would be lying if I didn't admit to being very teary today when I saw Wyatt in his suit and walking down the aisle. He looked so grown up, it almost took me by surprise. I am so proud of the little man he is becoming.
