All caught up

I know, I know.

It's been five weeks since I blogged.

Well, I am making up for it today with multiple posts. In my defense, I am reliant upon Todd uploading pictures to post and he finally uploaded them all today.

So, voila! Enjoy the next 5 entries.:)

Snowfall

We had our first real snowfall today. We've had flurries a couple of times, but nothing has stuck. Today...it stuck. We were in Salt Lake City in the morning . When we left, there was nothing on the ground and SLC was only getting flurries, when we came home, there was two-three inches on the ground. So, the kids geared up and out they went.

Mountain Sunset and X-mas card Pictures

This is a potpourri post of a some pictures of the kids and a gorgeous sunset out our front door:

We took the kids out a couple of weekends in a row to try to get some X-mas cards pictures before the weather turned. For those on Facebook, you've already seen these pictures, but I thought I'd post them here, too:



None of these pics are the one that I chose for our picture. Believe it or not, they're the "rejects".LOL The kids did great this year, so it was tough to choose.

Veteran's Day Parade

Ogden City put on a pretty large Veteran's Day Parade and had over 100 WWII vets take part. Some got into their old uniforms and were part of the color guard and others rode along and waved to the crowds. It was very touching to watch.

Wheeler Canyon

We took a hike a couple of weeks ago to Wheeler Canyon which is right along the river. It's uphill the whole way, but with some breathtaking views. Todd and I went out one Friday morning by ourselves and then took the kids back a couple of days later

My ears are cold and the altitude was getting to me. We call it "Evilina Mode":

African drumming

Wyatt's school's PTA brings in people/groups throughout the year to expose the kids to different cultures. The 4th and 6th graders were taught the African drums by Agginie Zinsie who is from Gana and now travels the globe to teach this art.

Oktoberfest at Snowbird

We took a trek out to Snowbird Resort today for the last weekend of Oktoberfest. Todd says that it is his favorite mountain resort out here, and I can see why. It's tucked in Little Cottonwood Canyon and is absolutely gorgeous. There were vendors selling crafts, lots of German Food and a traditional German band called "The Heidelberg Express."

We also took a tram ride to the top of the mountain. The kids were ecstatic that there was so much snow and that we were as high as we were. It was very cold up there, though, and I was not prepared for that, so poor Wyatt was freezing with his bald head. He had a good time, though, and Henry proclaimed that, "it is AWESOME up here."
